Harwick Intelligence is one firm with a London postal address and no branch offices. We do not have a public office in Birmingham. The first conversation is by phone or secure message, and if a meeting is needed we come to you or to a neutral place you choose. What to expect at first contact describes how we make contact.

Working in Birmingham

Birmingham moves by car. The ring road, the M6, M5 and M42 corridors and the sheer spread of the conurbation mean a mobile team with two vehicles is the usual starting point for surveillance rather than the exception, and the quote says so. The city centre, the professional district around Colmore Row and the Jewellery Quarter each have their own patterns of movement, and a subject who works in the centre will often live in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield or across the Black Country.

The Civil and Family Justice Centre at Priory Courts handles a high volume of family and financial-remedy work, and the Employment Tribunal for the region sits in the city. Reports for either are prepared in the form set out on our reporting page, with a witness statement to follow where one is needed.

Fieldwork, staffing and travel

Surveillance in Birmingham and the West Midlands is quoted per operative per day or half-day, with the number of operatives and the reason for it stated in the quote. Fieldwork is staffed from the area wherever possible so that travel is not on your bill. Where it cannot be, travel and any overnight stay are listed as disbursements at cost on the quote before you agree it, and are never added afterwards. How we charge sets out the fee models in full; you are told at scoping how the work will be staffed.

If proceedings follow

Reports are prepared for disclosure whether or not you expect to use them. Where a matter in Birmingham reaches a court or tribunal, the hearing will usually be at one of the following, and a witness statement and attendance are provided at the fees agreed for that stage.

What you receive describes the report structure and how exhibits are captured and kept so that a solicitor can put them before any of these without first arguing about provenance.

Reporting to the police

Threats, stalking and harassment in Birmingham are reported to West Midlands Police on 101, or 999 in an emergency. Our work runs alongside a police report, not instead of one; we establish who is responsible and preserve the evidence in a form the police and the courts can use. Before you contact anyone, the record-keeping guidance on our harassment page explains what to capture and what not to delete.
