The city is compact and busy around the Bay, the centre and Cathays, and fieldwork there is on foot. Beyond it, the Valleys, the M4 corridor to Newport and Swansea and the Vale of Glamorgan are car-based, and a subject who lives in the Valleys and works in the Bay is followed by vehicle to the edge of the city and on foot within it.

Welsh-language documents are common in proceedings here, and where any material relevant to an instruction is in Welsh we ask you to say so at scoping. The Civil and Family Justice Centre on Park Street and the Employment Tribunal for Wales both sit in the city, and reports are prepared for either in the form set out on our reporting page.

Fieldwork, staffing and travel

Surveillance in Cardiff and South Wales is quoted per operative per day or half-day, with the number of operatives and the reason for it stated in the quote. Fieldwork is staffed from the area wherever possible so that travel is not on your bill. Where it cannot be, travel and any overnight stay are listed as disbursements at cost on the quote before you agree it, and are never added afterwards. If proceedings follow

Reports are prepared for disclosure whether or not you expect to use them. Where a matter in Cardiff reaches a court or tribunal, the hearing will usually be at one of the following, and a witness statement and attendance are provided at the fees agreed for that stage.

What you receive describes the report structure and how exhibits are captured and kept so that a solicitor can put them before any of these without first arguing about provenance.

Reporting to the police

Threats, stalking and harassment in Cardiff are reported to South Wales Police, or Gwent Police in Newport and the eastern valleys on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
